Emerging Ministry and Mission Co-op (EMMCO) is responsible for credentialing, funding, and evaluating the collaborative efforts of Presbytery’s congregations and members who gather as partnerships for ministry and mission.

“Partnerships are people and churches with shared passion and vision for current and new mission and ministry opportunities.”

  • The Emerging Ministry and Mission Co-op supports emerging Partnership groups and promotes, encourages and assists congregations in discerning and forming partnerships in mission and ministries.
  • The EMMCO sets the criteria for eligibility, presbytery sponsorship and/or funding, and creates standards for accountability and evaluation for emerging mission and ministry partnerships.
  • The EMMCO sets guidelines for application and determines which mission and ministries will be funded with partnership grants and Peacemaking fund grants.

EMERGING MINISTRY PARTNERSHIP GRANTS

Newton Presbytery is committed to supporting congregations as they work together to serve their communities. The Emerging Ministry and Mission Cooperative (EMMCO) supports emerging mission partnerships within the Presbytery by offering financial and hands on support.

PEACEMAKING GRANTS

Each year our congregations receive the Peacemaking and Global Witness offering around the time of World Communion Sunday. The Presbytery retains a portion of the offering for Peacemaking projects within the presbytery.
