#365000+  Let us pray…

We have reached over #365000 people who have died from the Coronavirus. The number is staggering, and the end is not clear.

Words cannot describe the grief, sorrow and pain of people, people we know and love. Our hearts ache and our eyes tear up as we reflect on that number.

At the same time, we are angry at those who continue to dismiss this pandemic and persist at putting others at risk. To those people, please look in the eyes of someone who has been sick or has lost a loved one and couldn’t be at their bedside and tell them it isn’t real.

Let us pray,

God of our life, whose presence sustains us in every circumstance, we seek the grounding power of your live and compassion. We open our hearts in anger, sorrow, and hope; for those who lives have been forever changed. May they find solace, sustenance, and strength in the days to come.

We are grieving. We ask for courage, for strength and presence to provide comfort for those who are lost, deep in their grief.

We are angry. And we don’t know what to do with that anger. Give us clear vision and guidance in ways to express that anger that brings about your kingdom.

Open our eyes, hearts and our hands to the movement of your Spirit, who flows in us like the river whose streams make glad the city of God and the hearts of all who dwell in it and in you.
