On Sunday, November 3rd, about 40 youth and youth leaders from Newton Presbytery gathered at the First Presbyterian Church of Whippany. Whippany’s youth group, under the direction of Joanne Willans, hosted a delicious dinner and eventful evening of fun, learning and service.
Together, the youth created over 100 toiletry bags to be distributed to people in Newark who are homeless.
Joanne led the youth in a time of reflection and discussion on the topic of identity, considering how we present ourselves to the world, how we see ourselves, and how God sees us and loves us right where we are.
A bunch of action-packed games kept everyone on their toes, laughing, and teaming up with one another in fun ways.
Don’t miss our next gathering on Sunday, March 8th at the Morristown Presbyterian Church from 1 – 3 pm! It is a great experience for the youth of our Presbytery to feel connected and experience what is possible when we reach out together in God’s name to serve others and to support one another in the journey of faith. This youth gathering is open to youth in grades 6-12.
