Triennium 2019 BEGINS!!!!
The adventure begins on Monday, July 15 with a day at Johnsonburg for fun and getting to know others who are attending Triennium. Activities, Energizers, group building along with lunch and dinner are part of the day. Later that day Youth and Adults from five New Jersey Presbyteries will be leaving for Triennium at Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana.
Twenty one youth, one “work crew” and four adults will comprise the Presbytery of Newton delegation to Triennium this year.
Triennium is a gathering held every three years for high school age students in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Youth from all churches (across the sponsoring denominations) come together for this life changing, life giving, faith growing gathering! Five days that help form a younger generation of active Presbyterians. Five days that shape the leadership gifts and deepen the discipleship awareness for a generation who are already achieving a strong presence in this church and the world!
Five days of CONVERSATION, RECREATION, LEARNING, WORSHIP AND FUN! Drawing from the rich and diverse theology, history and education of the Presbyterian tradition – the Triennium experience is packed with the information students long to explore!
Digging into faith through a variety of activities and experiences – all focused around the theme “Here’s My Heart” (Recognize the line yet? Hint: # 475 in Glory to God and #356 in Blue Hymnal) participants at the Triennium will re-enter their lives with a fresh sense of inspiration grounded in the context of personal and communal worship!
Please keep these young people and adults in prayer throughout the week.
Holy God, through never ending streams of mercy, guide and protect our young people and their leaders as they attend the Presbyterian Youth Triennium. Tune their hearts to sing your praise and fill them with your wondrous grace. Transform their lives through this experience so that they may further build your Kingdom
through their gifts and leadership. Through Christ, we pray. Amen.
