As we approach Holy Week let us take time each day to pause, reflect and pray on what it meant to be a disciple of Jesus during the week of highest of highs and lowest of lows.
As we enter Holy Week and gather for prayer and worship, turn our hearts again to Jerusalem, to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In your mercy enable us to understand the cost of discipleship that the first disciples came to know in the truest sense that Holy Week. Quiet within us the noise that keeps us from hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit calling us out into your world and to your people in need of food, care, love, friendship and your presence. Give us courage to take up your cross and to be the disciples you call us to be.
In Christ’s Holy name we pray all these things. Amen.
